ALOHA,
We are discovering that WHOPPER LIKE stories can be told about the value of things by wall street, banksters, and real estate brokers, and now the insurance business. Eventually the real value of their offerings was just based on a buy and trade much like feeding frenzy. They have all gone bust …and some people really got stuck at the end of the deal line.
But what does have value! So how do we measure worth these days? I wish to offer that in this age of reboot, climate change, governments running other old games where the insiders win. …real worth and value is sustained by the land and homestead a chosen family presently occupies. And here’s why in the case of the homestead I helped design!
THIS HAS VALUE THAT YOU CAN COUNT ON!
They have almost three acres of deep topsoil.
They have 60 days of emergency food in sealed five gallon buckets.
They have a mystical and respectful creative association with nature.
They have a homestead family of 10 conscious people who are healthy and loving.
They have many beautiful views which are deeply nourishing to the soul and mind many of them you would call little sanctuaries private to the rest.
They have chickens and fresh game like pigs, cattle, and turkeys are close by.
They have a very moderate climate, no cold winters and enough rain ...usually at night.
They are bordered on three sides by open fields with mixed livestock in them.
They have one close neighbor who is a doctor the other has a degree in farming.
They have a goodly portion of biomass which provide shade, wind protection, and mulch.
They have three dozen hardwood trees which we can build with or burn for fuel.
They have three dozen palms and bamboos for utility construction and some food..
They have various medicine gardens with a dozen critical herbal plants on hand.
Theyhave eight ponds and three roof tops which catch water and we are also walking distance from a running water stream (the ditch) and we have buckets to bring water back or we can put it in a pick-up truck with a tarp inside…very little fuel expended.
They have four bio-islands, an orchard, a dozen micro starter plots, five tiered planting zones and various herbal plots to sustain food production. Basically a quarter of the land grows food. Presently we grow 60% of what we need to live and eat clean food.
They have over a hundred various kinds of fruiting trees in near climax state (2 years out).
They have three to five strong men to cultivate the land and three thoughtful women to harvest it. Two others are healers. We coexist together as a loving family.
They have enough space for sleeping and farm tools and surplus wood and tin for more.
They have five vehicles including two trucks and also two mopeds, and four bicycles.
They are part of a neighborhood resilience network that includes more of the same kind of land including medical help and two backhoes.
They can assemble a farm kitchen with freezer and 5 burner propane stove where ever we need it. And save 50% of store bought food costs.
They have some elements of security including a single entrance for vehicles, some non-lethal weapons, and men very well trained in defense.
They have three men who have the tools and can construct almost anything.
They have a good array of farming and land grooming tools with back-up on shovels and hoses.
They have a small amount of gasoline in hand with a mower and weed wacker.
They have a solar hot water heater, six firewood piles, and other ways to warm water. They never take their green waste to the dump they use for fires or mulch.
They have five laptops to connect to the internet.
We aim to get a catchment tank for three thousand gallons of water.
We aim to get a wind generator or two.
We aim to have a larger gasoline tank.
We aim to each have 60 days food stored in tight containers.
I calculate the value of this combination to be worth four million dollars. That’s say $400,000 per person and we they utilities every month. What do you think? Can you add anything? Would you pay the same amount for a two bedroom house near the hotels … you would … and you wouldn’t be secure and you wouldn’t feel like you lived in Hawaii.
We are of course protecting ourselves for some necessary transitions this world needs to make. But, think about this! We are also on the most direct path to paradise we can imagine. This isn’t a diversion. We are on course for the precise life we came to live on these beautiful islands. Strangely enough … the locals in the
uplands in Hawaii island live the same way. Fancy that!
GOPLANET!
