THE SOUL AT WORK Listening to the land, your own story, and dreams of those involved at the earliest possible time and from there secure the most sacred places on the land as a first priority. Create the necessary artifacts to symbolize your identity and dreams and see that they are placed on the land with presence.
THE LAY OF THE LAND Seeing the sun path, rainfall patterns, and wind direction then rough out the various most likely locations for dwellings, farm works, and natural pathways that gracefully create a story as you move about the land.
SECURE THE MOST MAGICAL AND REFRESHING VIEWPLANES Many conscientious planners forget to protect the abiding viewplanes that can be buried under on coming forest life.
Thoughtful art and lighting will need to be added in some cases to make the viewplane sing.
TREADING LIGHTLY ON THE LAND Consider a smaller temporary building to initially occupy the land so you can see exactly how things need to proceed before engaging the larger structures.
CREATE EFFICIENCIES USING PERMACULTURE PLANNING Do the five zone treatment beginning near the master dwelling and working your way out to the wild zone. This will concretize the best locations for the building masterplan drawing.
DESIGNING THE AGRI-STRUCTURE Select the sites for alternative energy, water systems, and necessary utilities especially that need to get in before the rest of the structures and gardens can be served.
IMAGINE THE WILDLIFE AND BOTANICAL END GAME As you select your areas where beauty and wildlife will come and thrive you can then weave that set of designs in with the workplan for crops and livestock. The beauty should nest in the food = food forest.
